February Wollongong Stitch N Bitch will be held at Collegians Club, Flinders Street, Wollongong on Saturday 25 February.

It is held from 2pm, some come along earlier.

Everyone who knits, spins or crochet are more than welcome.

We sit behind the main bar near the outdoor area.

January 2012 a new year and a new venue

Wollongong Stitch N Bitch has decided to move to a new venue from January 2012.

It will now be held at Collegians (Collies) Club, Flinders Street Wollongong.

It is an easy venue to get to by own transport or public transport, it has very good parking areas.

Collies has a nice coffee shop with really nice cakes, slices, muffins, sandwiches etc and a very reasonably priced bistro for meals.

Nothing else changes, the time is still 2pm - 5pm. Some always get there earlier and now there is lunch available some may even go for that too.

We will be sitting at the area behind the bar, near the outdoor area which has two sets of doors to go through, so no more smoke wandering in.

I was hoping to make it to SNB this month but I have been invited to my cousin's daughter's Bridal Shower. (I didn't know people still had these, I knew it as a Kitchen Tea many years back)

December SNB will be New Year's Eve. We are going to have it as Collies (Flinders Street, Wollongong) from 2pm - 5pm.

Sorry for being so slack and not posting here.

I will have to try and get my act together and post each month, so you all know what is happening.

I haven't been able to attend SNB most of this year....life gets in the way sometimes.

Anyway SNB for November will be Saturday 26 from 2pm.

November SNB is usually our Christmas Gift Swap, so if you like bring along a gift at value of $10, you can swap with someone else who brings a gift.

Please bring a gift that you would like to receive yourself.

Stitch N Bitch for March is Saturday 26. Yes voting day for us NSW people (which I have already done).

I have my eldest son's wedding that day so will be in QLD.

We are a very friendly bunch and make all newcomers very welcome.

KITGO on Saturday 5 March will be at the Wollongong Botanical Gardens (near the duck pond) from 10am until 2pm give or take a bit.

Bring along everything you need to make your day knitting enjoyable.

I will be away and can't make it again, although I am sure I will be there in April.

It was so nice to be back at SNB in January with some new people coming along too! That is what it is all about, meeting like minded people for an enjoyable afternoon knitting, chatting about knitting or life in general.

It is very inspiring to see what people are knitting and what yarns they are using.

Wow it is 2011...and the year is off to a quick start. The Easter Eggs are in the shops already, and I spotted Hot Cross Buns in Woolworths the day after boxing day...go figure...Easter is 4 months after Christmas, what is the rush with things.

Stitch N Bitch is on Saturday 29 January, same place, same time, and great people to knit/chat with.

SNB & Christmas Party November

SNB for November will be our Christmas Party.

SNB from 2pm at Lobby Bar with Secret Santa. Bring along a gift (value $10) and you will recieve a gift back.

Christmas Party will be dinner at the Wollongong Golf Club after SNB.

NOTE: Apparently there is a surf carnival at north beach the same day, so parking could be a hassle. I am sure we will all get parking somewhere in the area, maybe just not as close as we would like.

October SNB will be Saturday 30 October. Same place, same time.

The Christmas Party will be discussed along with the Secret Santa.

The Secret Santa is held during SNB in November. Gifts to the value of $10. If you bring a gift you get a gift back.

The Christmas Party is held on the same Saturday as November SNB. We go out for dinner somewhere in Wollongong. Venue has already been decided and will be discussed at SNB October and I will post about it here and in Ravelry.

2010 CR & K Daisy Design Knitters Retreat

What a wonderful weekend everyone had at this year's knitters retreat. Held by our local yarn store "CR&K Daisy Designs - Daisy Street, Fairy Meadow.

Wow April already, and it will be Stitch N Bitch again before we know it.

Stitch N Bitch will be on Saturday 24 April from 2pm at the Lobby Bar at the Novotel Wollongong.

This is the ANZAC long weekend and also the CR&K Daisy Designs Knitting Retreat.

I hope a lot of you will be at the Retreat too. The knitting retreat is a great weekend away with some very nice people doing what we all love to do.....knit, talk, drink, eat, drink, knit, laugh, knit, drink.....well you get the idea. We have a wonderful weekend.

Knitting in the great outdoors is on again this Saturday 3 April. Yes it is easter but a few are still going to go.

It will be at the Park in Towradgi next to Towradgi Beach and Towradgi Bowling Club, from 10am.(end of Towradgi Road)

Take along your chair, hat, sunscreen, knitting, drinks, food etc, a beach umbrella could be handy at this venue as not much shade I have been told unless you are lucky to get one of the covered picnic tables and chairs.

I won't be there, so have a great time and I will catch up next time.

Stitch N BItch at the Novotel

March SNB will be on Saturday 27 March 2010 from 2pm (or a bit earlier if you wish) in the Lobby Bar of the Novotel.

We have sat at the back next to the back windows which is a much nicer place and lighter for knitting. It is nice to have a change of direction of looking while we knit.

February saw a few mothers with their little babies join us, it was especially nice to see Charmaine and her son back from Dubai. Shirley was in her element holding both Zena and Charmaine's little boys at once.

KITGO - February 2010

Wow our second KITGO (Knitting In The Great Outdoors) will be on again this Saturday 6 February from 10am in the Park in Shellharbour at the Harbour opposite the pub. Wonder why we seem to gravitate to 'opposite a pub'! Just luck I guess.

So bring your knitting, a chair, hat, sunscreen, something to drink and eat (or there are plenty of cafes close by if you like).

You can join us at anytime from 10am and leave whenever you are ready. Very relaxed day.

We will decide on the venue for March while knitting on Saturday.

Yes it is on.....a few will be going that I know of, so if you were wondering if anyone might turn up.....then the answer is yes.

I know it is Boxing Day but some knitters are going to be getting together at the Novotel Lobby Bar on Saturday 26 December to enjoy an afternoon of knitting, chatting and having a great afternoon.

Knitting in the Great Outdoors - 2 January 2010

A few of us have been talking about having a knitting get together each month in a park and changing the venue each month. We will be holding Knitting in the Great Outdoors on the 1st Saturday of each month - venue to be announced each month.

Everyone is welcome, bring your knitting / crochet, a chair, anything you want to eat and drink (a thermos of hot tea/coffee if you like), sunscreen, hat.

The first Knitting in the Great Outdoors will be held on Saturday 2 January 2010 at the park in Jamberoo (on the corner at the roundabout). The park is well shaded by trees so will be nice on a sunny day. There is an undercover area there if the weather is wet.

We will be meeting from 10am until what ever time you want to leave.

There are some coffee shops nearby, an IGA store next to the park.

Hope to see as many as possible and even some new faces.

So bring along your knittting or crochet and have a nice morning in the park.

SNB Christmas Party - November 28

The annual Christmas Party will be held on 28 November after SNB finishes.

Cost: $32 two course or $38 three course

Secret Santa will be at SNB on Saturday 28 November if you bring a gift then you receive a gift. Gifts are limited to $10.

Viva La Gong....Gorilla Knitting

As a part of Viva La Gong this year some of us have been doing some Gorilla Knitting to be displayed in the Mall from this week for approx. 1 month.

On Saturday 7 November 2009 from 10am in McCabe Park Wollongong (Cnr Burelli & Church Streets) Wollongong Stitch N Bitch we be taking part in a knit-a-long to highlight the Gorilla Knitting.

Wollongong Council will be providing some chairs and picnic rugs, but you need to book. If you need them let Kerry or Rae know at CR&K Daisy Designs. Otherwise it may be easier to take along your own chair.

You can knit there as long as you like and whatever you like to knit.

Wollongong SNB will be there from 10am - 12noon knitting.

So if you have time and you would like to use it knitting, then come along and join in with us.

It is held at the Novotel Lobby Bar, Cliff Drive, Wollongong (North Beach) from 2pm - 5pm. (some of us arrive anytime from around 1pm)

All are welcome to come along have a knit or crochet, have a chat, drink, eat and enjoy the afternoon with people who love being around other knitters.
