SNB April - CHANGE OF VENUE FOR APRIL

What a great SNB we had on Saturday 31 March, only a small group this month, we had some great conversations and laughs. The people there brought up the fact that we have changed to Collegians Club instead of the Novotel, with some saying they won’t be attending anymore if it is at Collegians. The reason being that they like the atmosphere at the Novotel better. They weren’t concerned about the price of afternoon tea etc, in fact they like the idea that your coffee/tea and cake were delivered to you at your table. Parking is much easier at Collegians and there is always plenty of parking, no driving around the block a few times to get a parking space. On the other side of things, some don’t want to go to the Novotel and prefer Collegians. In the past we have had changes to our venue and it has always been good wherever we meet. Seeing as the Knitting Camp will be on the same weekend as SNB in April, the people who are not going to camp who were at SNB in March decided that they will meet at the Novotel on 28 April. In May we will return to Collegians as everyone knows it is being held there and we can discuss our options. Any and all thoughts are most appreciated.

C.R.& K Daisy Designs - 6th Annual Knitting Retreat

C.R. & K Daisy Designs are holding the 6th Annual Knitting Retreat from 27 April - 28 April 2012.

There will be Drop Spindle classes, Yarn Dyeing and Felt Ball making over the weekend as well as the usual knitting, chatting, eating etc.

Cost is $170 which includes accommodation Friday and Saturday nights, a light supper Friday evening, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Saturday and Breakfast and Lunch on Sunday.

The theme this year for Saturday night is “60’s, Flower Power, Hippies”.

It is held at Mt Keira Scout Camp, the accommodation is the Chalet sleeping quarters are bunk beds, 10 per room with showers and toilets downstairs. Cub Lair sleeping quarters are two separate rooms with 6 bunk beds with toilet and shower at end of room and extra showers and toilets in main hall between the two rooms. The Lodge is the main auditorium where most of the knitting and activities are held, there are two bedrooms, toilets and showers - this is suitable for those with impaired mobility. Bring your own linen or sleeping bags, pillow, blankets, toiletries etc.

Meals are served in the Camp Kitchen, morning and afternoon tea are served in the Lodge. The food is plentiful and freshly prepared for each meal.

SNB March

March Wollongong Stitch N Bitch will be held at Collegians Club, Flinders Street, Wollongong on Saturday 31 March.

It is held from 2pm, some come along earlier.

Everyone who knits, spins or crochet are more than welcome.

We sit behind the main bar near the outdoor area.

There is a nice coffee/cake cafe and reasonably priced meals at the club.

Stitch N Bitch February

February Wollongong Stitch N Bitch will be held at Collegians Club, Flinders Street, Wollongong on Saturday 25 February.

It is held from 2pm, some come along earlier.

Everyone who knits, spins or crochet are more than welcome.

We sit behind the main bar near the outdoor area.

January 2012 a new year and a new venue

Wollongong Stitch N Bitch has decided to move to a new venue from January 2012.

It will now be held at Collegians (Collies) Club, Flinders Street Wollongong.

It is an easy venue to get to by own transport or public transport, it has very good parking areas.

Collies has a nice coffee shop with really nice cakes, slices, muffins, sandwiches etc and a very reasonably priced bistro for meals.

Nothing else changes, the time is still 2pm - 5pm. Some always get there earlier and now there is lunch available some may even go for that too.

We will be sitting at the area behind the bar, near the outdoor area which has two sets of doors to go through, so no more smoke wandering in.

I was hoping to make it to SNB this month but I have been invited to my cousin's daughter's Bridal Shower. (I didn't know people still had these, I knew it as a Kitchen Tea many years back)

December SNB - change of venue (just this time)

December SNB will be New Year's Eve. We are going to have it as Collies (Flinders Street, Wollongong) from 2pm - 5pm.

November SNB

Sorry for being so slack and not posting here.

I will have to try and get my act together and post each month, so you all know what is happening.

I haven't been able to attend SNB most of this year....life gets in the way sometimes.

Anyway SNB for November will be Saturday 26 from 2pm.

November SNB is usually our Christmas Gift Swap, so if you like bring along a gift at value of $10, you can swap with someone else who brings a gift.

Please bring a gift that you would like to receive yourself.
